Look out. I’m feeling a nurse tchotchke post coming on…
Today I discovered this:

And I wondered, “In what universe is this a desirable object?”
Then I found this:

And I wondered, “What makes this one okay?” In fact, it’s more than okay. It’s kinda sorta charming. It’s a very fine line, folks, when it comes to nurse tchotchkes.

Apparently one is a “Mootitioner” and one is a variation on “Quacktitioner”.
I suppose a nurse who is into cows would like it! : D

She looks kind of business-like and no-nonsense (like a charge nurse making rounds with a new intern,) but still capable of moments of true compassion when warranted. The penguin is just a little too “cutesy” for me but with those blank black eyes.
Anyhow, your insights on nursing are enjoyed and ap-preciated. After 30+ years in the health-care field (as a CNA initially and then as an RN) I think it is very wise to inject some humor, grace and serendipity into the current status of the profession as often as possible!
